So I was going through room rates earlier, and since the dates for the convention are blacked out I used this weekend as a base for how much 3 days would generally cost,
Double Tree-
Priceline has a room with 2 beds for $99 a night Double Tree website is $169
Hyatt-
Hyatt Website is $175 a night Priceline has it for $160 a night
Candlewood-
Candlewood website is $109 a night Priceline is $69 a night
so...let me know what yall think this is only for a one room with 2 beds. The Candlewood is 2 rooms with one bed per room.

I would love to be in the Hyatt, but it is expensive. Would still be do-able with 4-5 people though.
Double Tree would be my next choice.
I'd really like to avoid Candlewood if it all possible. They pissed me off this year.

if we can get 4-5 people I would stay in the Hyatt too, but yes Double Tree was my second choice
Candlewood did piss me off this year, but eaither way we would need a 21 year old to check us in, the reservation would be in their name. Besides we dont need the kitchen obviously we didnt even use it lol

As it stand right now we have 4 people. So it would be such a stretch.
Yeah, Candlewood is good if you absolutely must have a kitchen, but obviously we don't lol.

whoever was booking would also need the money before those blocks opened up. and as it stands with the hyatt we would need to check in thrusday night so we get the room that we book. ( or so the ACEN forums say) so we would need to be ready to go by wed. night (Jackie) so we can get there ontime and get the room we pay for (Jackie) lols!

...wait what? We never had to do that before to check into the Hyatt. We always just checked in the morning/afternoon of that first day we were staying there.

"In the case of ACen, booking Thursday night will allow you to avoid this from happening for the most part. Since many people come in on Friday, the people already checked in cannot be bumped. If you do arrive on Friday, arrive early to check in. Maybe they will let you in to your room early; maybe not. If they have you wait to check in (that is, your room is not ready yet), at least have them take down your name and arrival time. The will rooms go on a first come, first served basis. When the rooms run out, whoever is left is out of luck."

That's strange. We never had an issue with that before.

I guess it happened alot this year, the hotel did slight over booking because theyre are some cancellations, however con goers rarely cancel their reservations, so the over booked attendees usually get moved to the hyatt down the road or they get the first come first serve rooms, so if we go to the Hyatt, we have to book thursday, I mean look at the luck we had this year...

Hmm that's true. We'd definitely need at least one more person to afford the Hyatt then. (Is Juli for sure going this year?)

as far as I know she is, she needed to work for walmart for at least a year before she could request days off, so Im hoping she is for sure going, if not Zack and his friend Phil might also be going, and if we can get kelly to go thats another person, so.. we have some options, lol

That's good. The blocks for DoubleTree and the Hyatt don't even open until around Nov.-Dec. right?
