I'd be the one making them. Not that hard. While I appreciate that(and believe me, I do), I'll see what I can find in the way of foam hands.

she's right though, those hands would be easy peasy lemon squeezy.
All she's gotta do, is make a "turkey" from your hands, put it over the foam (to judge size), cut the foam to the right size/shape, then take a sharp knife to cut away for your hands. (two hour project, TOPS). the hardest part (and this is true no matter what material you use) is going to be painting them, or puting fabric over them to make them the right color. and still, i think you could get away with plain old spray paint. (or if you feel like being nifty, fabric spray paint. I've seen a couple places with it recently)

If you can't find them though, it'll be easy to make. I'm not to worried about painting them, if need be I can go the fabric route.

thats fine if you wana do that. that's why i was asking. if you were just gonna buy it, then I don't have to worry about patterns and fabric. (I got an amazing load of coupons this month for joanns, so I'm hoping to get a lot of buying done)

What kind of coupons? I got a bit of money I can spring for fabric or a pattern with. I think I may just do Tsubaki. Also, off topic but how hard to you think it would to be make something like this: 'Cause I can't seem to find the right kind of tracksuit in my size, and I could just order her costume from Ebay, but spending $90 on a tracksuit seems kind of ridiculous if it could be made for cheaper.

hm... now you guys are making me think.... x[
sewingpatterns.com combines all the patterns on one site. stick to simplicity, mccalls, vogue, burda, and buttrick. some greenpepers and kwiksews are at joanns, but not many. when I get a chance i'll look, but i gotta be up in four hours. i needs sleeeeeeeepppppp..... zzzzzZZZzzzZZzzzzz
find out how much fabric you'd need, and figure ~$4/yd.

I'm 50/50 about either buying a Black Star cosplay or having one made.
If I buy one, then we don't have to worry about anything except his star, and that goes without saying how easy it is. :-P
Jackie, As much as I would appreciate it if the costume was a collaborative effort(I can get some help from my mother) I wouldn't want to saddle it on you or her, or Kai, considering the other costumes that have to be made.

In theory. Whoever does it would be able to sit down and do it in a day probably. like i said, the hardest part would be the collar, for which interfacing works wonders.
If you decide to buy it though, you're right, it does save a lot of time and frustration. Totally up to you!
